The engraved silvered dial with Roman and Arabic chapter ring, pierced steel hands, the centre with date aperture and signed 'J. Crossley LONDON', the arch with 'STRIKE SILENT' dial with steel hands, engraved with draped flower trails, the twin wire fusee movement with five ring-turned pillars, anchor escapement, strike on two bells, the backplate engraved with scrolling foliage, the case with a stepped domed rectangular cresting with flaming finials and pierced sound frets, above a door with arched glazed panel flanked by canted corners with female herm mounts about flowers, the sides with pierced sunburst panels below brass handles, on a plinth with ball feet, lacking winder
