Cartouche form, the cover and base chased with figures and animals within scrolls and rocaille, the sides flat-chased with foliage, the interior gilt, marked inside base and cover and on bezel, with charge and discharge of Hubert Louvet, the maker's mark part struck, the bezel also with later French control marks
