Queen, July-November 1846; Thetis November 1846-July 1850; Vengence July 1850-Sept 1852 [the last being a diary of personal observations); together with Fellowes's manuscript copy of the orders and duties used aboard the Vengence; and watch quarters and station bills from H.M.S Marlborough, mostly bound with quarter calf marble boards with some title labels. Rear-Admiral Sir Thomas Hounsom Butler Fellowes, KCB [1827-1923] joined the Royal Navy in 1845, was the Senior Lieutenant at the landing of allied forces at Vera Cruz, 1861; Rear-Admiral 1886; served in the Baltic 1854-56 (Medal); Black Sea (Crimean and Turkish Medals, Sebastopol clasp); Commanded the Naval Brigade in the Abyssinian War, 1868, (despatches, promoted, CB, medal).

Fellowes' photographs taken by Sgt. John Harrold, R.E. and his staff during the Abyssinian Campain are to be offered in these rooms in the 28 November Photographs Sale (5022). Estimate: £3,000-5,000
