Lot Essay

After enjoying an incident-free career under her British house flag, the Ramon De Larrinaga was sold to a Greek owner in 1969 and renamed Marianna. Within five years she had no less than three collisions. In February 1976, the now-named Marian arrived at Lisbon with engine-trouble and was abandoned in port. With ten thousand tons of solidified concrete and two hundred of gas-oil aboard, she was towed out of port and sunk in 1,800 feet of water off Cabo Raso.
