Please note that it has come to our attention that the racket was not used in the 1936 Wimbledon Championships. It has been suggested that the laurel wreath on the racket handle was first printed in the late 1940s. The new estimate for this lot is now £300-500.

The above racket is believed to have been used by Fred Perry in the 1936 Wimbledon Championships. In the 1936 Wimbledon Final, Perry defeated Gottfried Von Cramm 6/1, 6/1, 6/0, becoming Wimbledon champion for a record third consecutive year. The 1936 Wimbledon Championships proved to be Perry's last Men's Singles Championships before turning professional.
