Lot Essay

The iron screw steamer Ravensdale was built at Hartlepool by E. Withy & Co. in 1881. Owned by Steel, Young & Co. of London, she was registered at 1,114 tons gross (716 net) and measured 226 feet in length with a 30 foot beam.
