FIRST EDITION OF THE FIRST FULLY LITHOGRAPHED BOOK. Dürer's designs for the book of hours of Maximilian I are printed in violet, sepia, red, black and green, following the original. This first publication from Senefelder's Munich studio represents an important experiment with the still nascent technique of lithography, which Senefelder invented.
