"The following year at Wagner's vertical: now medium pale, attractive; a light fragrant Pinot aroma, then opened up beautifully and within 30 minutes fully evolved. Believe it or not, after four hours in the glass, (I left only a little!), lovely, still exuding charm, and an hour after that reminding me of a shop dispensing aromatherapy oils. On the palate, sweet, nice weight, lovely flavour, perfect balance. One of the best of Wagner's 60 vintages. Most recentl: beautiful in all respects. At its most gloriusl fragrant best. Lat noted at the closing of Stephen Kaplan's 1985 vintage event in Chicago, April 2000. ***** MB, Vintage Wine.
