the delicately modelled beast wades up to its flanks in swirling clouds, his forelegs rising above the billows that arise to its rear, bearing on its back three rolled scrolls, tied with a thick knotted ribbon that falls down its back, the end clutched in the animals jaws, a flaming pearl, supported by scrolling clouds to the creatures side - 7¼in. (18.5cm) wide, the wood stand carved depiciting the swirling, vapourous clouds below.
