with rounded sides rising to the flared rim, supported on a short tapering foot, the exterior decorated above the foot with a border of four alternating five-clawed dragons and phoenix on a foliated floral ground, below a narrow border of the bajixiang ('Eight Buddhistic Emblems') alternating with ruyi-heads, the interior white glazed, underglaze blue six-character Longqing mark -- 16¼in. (41.2cm.) diam.
