Three Cantonese famille rose dishes, 19th century
each of oval shape with wide and slightly everted rims, the rim decorated with a border of butterflies alternating with foliate peony, lotus and chrysanthemum sprays, the first enamelled in the well with a ruler seated before his court in a veranda, the second with charging footmen and equestrians, one of which is bitten by a snake, the third with dignitaries and ladies at court before an official -- maximum 18 7/16in.
