A Nepalese gilt bronze group depicting Manjusri with consort, with date 1816
the figure in a three-headed six-armed form, seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base, holding various Buddhist attributes including a sword, vajra and ghanta, wearing a multi-crowned headdress, roundel earrings, and a long beaded necklace with armlets and bracelets, a gently folded dhoti and celestial scarf, his shakti seated on his left knee in lalita asana, seated either side on lotus bases further supporting Tara figures each holding a padma stem in their left hand, the entire group before a trefoil aureole flaming mandarla and seated on a rectangular openworked tiered base decorated in relief with standing elephants, the reverse of the base with five lines of Newari script including the date 'the third day of the eleventh month of the Newar year 937 - 11 3/8in. (29.5cm) high.
