FLEMISH, FIRST HALF 17TH CENTURY
The ivory sleeve depicting a bacchic putto wearing a vine wreath in his hair, raising a gourd and being drawn in a chariot by two rearing horses and accompanied by another putto blowing a horn; on a later spreading silver-gilt foot with acanthus leaf decoration; the underside with Edinburgh silver marks dating circa 1870; the lid lacking, very minor damages
