Lot Essay

A related oval drop-leaf table, but with circular pad feet was sold by The Lord St. Oswald, removed from store at Nostell Priory, Yorkshire, Christie's, London, 30 November 2000, lot 62. Another comparable oval drop-leaf table with similar scrolls heading the legs was sold, anonymously, Christie's, London, 11 November 1999, lot 29 (£10,350).
