The Mughal Dynasty which lasted from 1526 to 1862 in India is best embodied by its grandiose architecture and the magnificent jewellery of this period. An aristocratic object, jewellery was the ultimate symbol of wealth and power. A profusion of diamonds and gemstones appeared in polychrome repetitive foliate designs, typical of Mughal jewellery.
This timeless combination of vivid colours and ornamental motif provides the inspiration for this set of jewellery and wristwatch with its elaborate emerald, ruby and diamond floral design which is reminiscent of the splendour of the jewels from the Mughal era.
