Accompanied by a letter, hand-written and signed by Franck Muller, confirming that the present watch was made by him personally for the Vicenza Jewellery and Watch Fair in 1986. This prototype is the firm's first tonneau-shaped curvex minute repeating perpetual calendar wristwatch and of historical importance as it can be considered the cornerstone of Franck Muller!&s complicated timepieces.
The movement of this unique wristwatch was originally supplied by LeCoultre to Tiffany and is comparable to the high quality minute repeating movements signed Patek Philippe for example. It was upgraded by Mr. Muller with a perpetual calendar mechanism and fitted into the present 18K gold tonneau-shaped case.
Following the successful presentation of this fine timepiece at the Vicenza Fair and the establishment of Franck Muller's own firm in 1992, a further improved version of the movement was manufactured at the company's "Watchland" (near Geneva and is since incorporated in the firm's line of complicated wristwatches.
This rare prototype is furthermore delivered with a Franck Muller presentation box with outer packaging, Certificate and drawstring bag.
