[Strassburg: Johan Knoblouch for Paul Boetz, 5 September 1514]. 4° (205 x 142mm). Title printed in red and black, woodcut initials, rubricated throughout (lacks the final blank, old repaired tear in g1 with very slight damage to text and causing some discolouration, lightly browned throughout). Contemporary Flemish binding of panelled and blindstamped brown calf over wooden boards, front cover composed of rolls with arabesques and birds surrounding a blindstamped inscription from Psalm 111 'Initium sapientie timor domini', back cover decorated with late gothic floral ornaments separated by curved rules, front endpaper and stubs at the end from a late 12th-century rubricated manuscript breviary on vellum (neatly and sympathetically rebacked, lacks clasps, a few minor defects). Provenance: Ludovicus Garb 1593 (signature at foot of title) -- old black library stamp on title, a2r and last page.
