FIRST EDITION, second issue of Dallington's guide-book The View of Fraunce, condemned by the author in the preface to the present issue as an unauthorised publication. This is an amusing and light-hearted, though instructive, view of France and its institutions and finances and 'is especially distinguished by some valuable hints to the traveller on the best method for advantageously observing the manners and customs of foreign countries' (DNB). For the last thirteen years of his life Dallington was master of Charterhouse. STC 6203.
