Title within a woodcut architectural border, with K4 blank save for line-borders and pagination, and the penultimate blank, title of the second edition of 1613 bound in at beginning (lacks the final blank, top fore-corner of first 6 leaves repaired with no loss, top margins of first quire lightly wormed and rather weak, waterstained at the beginning). Early 20th-century cloth (soiled). Provenance: From the Library of John Jackson (1793-1875) of Academy Place, Warrington (bookplate). FIRST EDITION, one of about 200 copies printed for the author. STC 6246; cf. Pforzheimer 242 (second edition).

With the blank G12 (lacks the last 2 leaves, probably blank, fore-margins cut close affecting several side-notes, a little discoloured). Later sheep, panels of flat spine ruled in gilt (a little rubbed). Provenance: Henry Robinson (late 17th-century signature on title and ownership inscription at end) -- From the Library of John Jackson (1793-1875) of Academy Place, Warrington (bookplate).
