The plate count of our copy corresponds to Focillon's plate count (551-582) but, like his, ours does not contain plates XX and XXI, which are also not illustrated by Wilson-Ely. Hind notes that in later states the plates were numbered with roman numerals but in our copy only plates III-VIII and X-XIII are numbered. The watermark is similar to but not identical with numbers 36-40 in the catalogue of watermarks listed by Andrew Robinson in Wilton-Ely. This and the quality of the paper suggests that this is an early edition, published circa 1777. Hind pp. 86-87; Focillon 551-582; Wilton-Ely D.X.
