FIRST EDITION of Young's principal work, a sabbatarian apology and a strong attack on the Book of Sports. In 1617 or 1618 Young became the tutor of John Milton who later praised him as 'a pastor illustrious for his honor of the primitive faith and well instructed how to feed the sheep that love Christ'. In 1641 he was the leader of the anti-prelatical group which published several tracts under the name of Smectymnuus; their cause was adopted by Milton who contributed five anti-prelatical pamphlets of his own in 1641 and 1642.
