RUSSELL FLINT-' (lower right)and dated '6.4.48' (lower left, overmounted) and signed and inscribed 'Entrance to the Citadel, Montreuil W Russell Flint' (on the reverse of the frame) and further signed and inscribed 'The Citadel Gateway, Montreuil W Russell Flint, Montreuil 27.6.48' (on the reverse of the mount) and with further inscription in a contemporary hand 'BA691 Painted under umbrella started in drizzle & carried on in torrents Sunday June 27. 1948 Montreuil' (on the reverse of the mount)
