Printed in red and black within typographic borders. 2 engraved plates, woodcut diagrams, 3 double-page tables. 302 leaves (lacking frontispiece, title, first part title and leaves 70-71). (Occasional dampstain and soiling, a few mostly marginal tears, some repaired, one plate torn with loss.) 19th-century black quarter roan and marbled boards (boards worn). Provenance: an early reader (marginalia on versos of tables and first and last leaf) -- Aleksandra Kalmanova (inscription on front endpaper) -- 'printed in Russia' (stamp on front endpaper) -- Paul M. Fekula.
