Chromolithographed title, frontispiece, 2 portraits and 22 plates after Simakov, Makovskii, Sokolov, Savitskii, Karazin, Polenov, Kramskoi, Vereshchagin, Makorov, Bogdanov, Grigor'ev, Aleksandrovskii, Surikov and Samokish, decorative initials and illustrations in the text, some chromolithographed, text printed in black, blue and red. (Occasional light marginal spotting, one text leaf worn with some loss.) EXTRA-ILLUSTRATRED with a full-page chromolithographed exemplaire nominatif statement (this one with long tear and wear in margins restored). Rebound preserving the original printed paper cover (small area lacking, spotting). Provenance: Comte de Moy (exemplaire nominatif).
FIRST EDITION. EXEMPLAIRE NOMINATIF for the Comte de Moy, with the rare chromolithographed limitation statement bound-in. The coronation album of Alexander III, illustrating the ceremonies and events in Moscow, was printed in a small edition for members of the Imperial family and foreign dignitaries participating in the celebrations on 15 May 1883. According to Burtsev it was never offered for public sale and is accordingly rare. Lipperheide Sk11.
