Approximately 25 parts, various formats, bound in one vol., 4° (342 x 260mm). (A very few leaves loose, occasional light wear.) Blue cloth, spine gilt-lettered. Provenance: David Burlyuk (drawings, stamp of Burlyuk Gallery) gift to: -- 'Mr Karpel' for an unspecified Museum Library (inscription recording the gift, dated 1965, shortly before Burlyuk's death) -- Ars Libri to: -- present owner (note recording purchase in 1996).
BURLYUK'S OWN COPIES of 17 issues of Color and Rhyme, from issues 4 (1932) to 57 (1965); bound with other Burlyuk publications, including Livshits's Gileya (1931), in later covers WITH ORIGINAL ARTWORK BY BURLYUK and a letter dated 1964 laid-in to Burlyuk from the artist Mai Miturich-Khlebnikov; Entelekhizm (1930), in later covers WITH ORIGINAL ARTWORK BY BURLYUK, an issue each of Oshima (1927), and Krasnaya Strela (1932); two copies of ½ Veka (1932) commemorating Burlyuk's 50th birthday; and catalogues for exhibitions at the Twentieth Century Club (May 1931), and the ACA Gallery (December 1945). Burlyuk, with Larionov and Khlebnikov, was a founder of and driving force behind Russian futurism.
