FIRST EDITION. Prospectus for Shomir Publishing, with a cover by Lissitzky and illustrations by Chagall. The October Revolution and the Balfour Declaration of the following month galvanized a Jewish cultural renaissance in Moscow. Plans for a Jewish museum were being made, and Broderson midwifed Shomir 'a circle of National Jewish aesthetics'. Some of the titles described include Broderson's Sihat Holin and Abram Efros's 'Art of Marc Chagall', the first critical study of Chagall. Rare. Not in Hellyer. The Russian Avant-Garde Book, p.137.
