FIRST EDITION. One of the best Russian illustrated books of the early 20th century by this major figure in Russian art. Samarkandiya chronicles the 4 months he spent in the summer of 1921 in Samarkand -- the place Petrov-Vodkin described as the 'land of turquoise revelations'.
