The boy blowing a torch is similar to that in a picture in the collection of Lord Spencer, Althorp House, Northamptonshire, which according to Mr. Beherman is a copy after a lost original by Schalcken (see T. Beherman, Godfried Schalcken, Paris, 1988, pp. 356-7, no. 326, illustrated).
