A GERMAN PARCEL-ENAMELLED GOLD SNUFF-BOX SET WITH A MINIATURE
by Charles Colins Sons (fl. c. 1837 - after 1870), marked, Hanau, circa 1840, the miniature attributed to Heinrich Abel Seyffert (1768-1834)
Rectangular box with rounded corners and baluster sides, the cover, sides and base engraved with scrolling cartouches and flower-heads and parcel-enamelled in pale blue and white, the cover centred with a miniature of Prince Carl of Prussia (1801-1883) in blue coat with gold-embroidered red collar and silver epaulettes, wearing the breast-star of the Royal Prussian Order of the Black Eagle and the badge of the Royal Prussian Order of the Red Eagle
