Lot Essay

The sitters were daughters of Gisbert Count of Fürstenberg-Stammheim and his wife Eugenie née Countess Auersperg. Marie died unmarried in Munich and Paula married, as his first wife, in 1889 at Stammheim/Rhine, Hans Karl Gotthard, Count Schaffgotsch auf Zülshoff, a royal Prussian chamberlain and Rittmeister.
