MARK OF JOHN SAMUEL HUNT, LONDON, 1838
Cylindrical with rocaille foliage handles, with reeded rim, engraved with a coat-of-arms, the plain liner engraved with a crest, marked on side and liner, the base stamped 'Storr & Mortimer' and '166'
10¼ in. (26 cm.) wide over handles
39 oz. (1,225 gr.)
The arms are those of Tollemache with a crescent for difference for the second son, possibly for Wilbraham Spencer Tollemache (1807-1890) of Dorfold Hall, Cheshire, second son of Admiral John Tollemache (1772-1837).
