MARK OF AUGUSTINE COURTAULD, LONDON, 1718
Vase shaped and on spreading foot, the lower body decorated with strapwork, with two leaf-capped scroll handles, the cover with strapwork and a baluster finial, the body engraved with a coat-of-arms, the cover engraved with a crest, marked underneath, the cover with remains of marks on bezel

The arms are those of Carleton, possibly for Alexander Carleton of Market Hill, co. Fermanagh (d.1745), who inherited on the death of his father in 1716. The same arms were also borne by the Carletons of Rossfad, co. Fermanagh.
