A CHARLES II SILVER TANKARD
MAKER'S MARK AH, MULLET ABOVE AND BELOW, LONDON, 1676
Slightly tapering, the lower body chased with acanthus leaves, the flat hinged cover with a double dolphin thumbpiece and an applied leaf, the scroll handle part beaded and pierced, engraved with a coat-of-arms within plumes, the base engraved with the initials 'SB', marked near handle, inside cover and on handle
7¾ in. (19.7 cm.) high
34 oz. (1,050 gr.)
The arms are those of Blackwall impaling another
