APPARENTLY UNMARKED, CIRCA 1660, POSSIBLY DUTCH
Cartouche shaped, the hinged cover decorated with a grotesque mask being attacked by an eagle with out-stretched wings within an auricular border, the back cast and chased with a snake enclosing a hand and with foliage and scalework, prick engraved 'COGNOISANTIA', the interior with two covers, one applied with scrolls, the screw on stopper modelled as a tassel, later engraved inside with a scratchweight '4=5'
