The circular base on four double lion's paw feet with bands of guilloche and acanthus motifs, the bowl with mask and foliate bud handles, on cast swan and foliage wrapped monopodia supports and with baluster-shaped stem, the rim applied with foliage scroll and ribbon decorated column motifs connected by husk swags and putti on a textured ground, the slightly domed cover with a putto finial and applied band of palmette and foliage motifs, the cover and rim each twice applied with the Cyrillic monogram below coronet, marked on rim near handles, on rim of base, on calyx, on the stem, under base, inside cover and on cover bezel, the base and cover further stamped 'C.CAHIER'

The monogram and coronet are those of Grand Duke Mikhail Pavlovich (1798-1849).
