Lot Essay

Dita was Madonna's alter-ego that she assumed for Erotica and for her book Sex. Madonna apparently took the name from Dita Parlo, a German actress who worked in the 1930s-1950s.

The controversial album Erotica was released in 1992 - the song lyrics explored sexuality and was Madonna's first album to be released with a Parental Advisory label.
