A LACQUERED STEEL AND LEATHER UPHOSLTERED ARMCHAIR BY JEAN PROUVE, 1934-1935
In the spirit of l'UAM, Jean Prouvé was concerned about using industrial material but without loosing the confort. In 1981 Jean Prouvé commented about this armchair :"...this chair is very comfortable...you see, very early on we started making furniture like that...it was taken up by the great American manufacturer Knoll."

Ce modèle a été dessiné pour la Compagnie Parisienne de Distribution d'Electricité S.A.
Dans la lignée de l'UAM, Jean Prouvé a à coeur d'associer le confort à l'usage d'un materiau industriel. En 1981 il expliquait dans un entretien à propos de ce fauteuil "...il a une qualité..., c'est qu'il est extrêmement confortable ... voyez-vous on avait commencé très tôt à faire des meubles comme ça...ça a été repris par le grand fabricant américain Knoll."
