IZAPAN JADE EFFIGY PENDANT
LATE PRECLASSIC, ca. 300 - 100 B.C.
carved with openwork design in the form of the profile of a mythical creature with large proboscis and open jaw displaying sharpened fang, scrolled eye, embellished on each side with incised design filled with red pigment; in blue-green mottled stone, four drill holes for suspension.
