RUSSIAN, 18TH CENTURY
A monumental icon of Christ Pantokrator, with a tripartite gold halo, seated on a wooden carved throne, in a double glory: the oval glory shaped by seven seraphims and the lozenge one having the Apocalyptic images of the four evangelists on its corners, the folds of the garments are rendered in white, the details of the neckline and the cufflinks bear gold decoration, whereas the deep colours of Christ's appearance stand out against the pastel rendered background.
