A PAIR OF ETRUSCAN GOLD EARRINGS
CIRCA 5TH CENTURY B.C.
Each composed of a curved hollow tube, one end with a lion head terminal, with a full mane of overlapping locks, an open mouth and a lolling tongue, the other end open and fringed with plain wire, three inverted pyramids of granulation below; together with a single Greek gold earring, Hellenistic Period, circa 3rd century B.C., with a bull head terminal, the collar with filigree wire ornament including plain and beaded wires and two sets of tongues, the hollow hoop formed of a rounded strap and a pair of twisted wires spiraled together, tapering into a single wire once hooked at the end to join the loop projecting beneath the bull's muzzle, a punched Greek inscription on the back of the bull's head
