Dessinatrice de talent née en 1900, Suzanne Belperron rejoint les ateliers de Boivin dans les années 1920. Elle y développe sa prédilection pour les pierres dures et semi précieuses, qu'elle conservera tout au long de sa carrière. Sa jeunesse et sa personnalité forte et originale lui permettent de créer un style personnel, audacieux et imaginatif. La broche "Grappe de raisin " lot 252 est caractéristique de sa production dans les années 1930 : la calcédoine, pierre qu'elle affectionne particulièrement, se marie aux perles pour créer des formes architecturales aux lignes simples, emblématiques de l'Art Déco. Suzanne Belperron (born 1900), the talented jewellery designer, started her career in René Boivin's workshop in the 1920s. She developped a passion for hard and semi-precious stones, which she continued to use in her creations throughout her life. Young and gifted with a strong personnality, she created her own distinctive and imaginative style. The "Grappe" clip brooch, lot 252, is caracteristic of her work in the 1930s, combining chalcedony, her favorite gemstone, with pearls in an architectural design typical of the Art Deco period.
