The seed-pearl cover centering around a rose-cut diamond monogram 'ANE' to the front and a geometric motif to the back suspending a seed-pearl fringe to the circular-cut diamond border and pearl clasp, opening to reveal a leather-lined interior with link-chain handle, made in 1924, approx. 13.0 cm diameter, with French assay mark for platinum, in brown leather Van Cleef & Arpels pouch

Although the monogram and frame are very much Art Deco, the fine working of the seed pearls and the fringe are reminiscent of the delicacy of Belle Epoque jewels. The House also created Art Deco vanity cases with seed pearl decoration, naturally fusing elements of both periods.
