Lot Essay

Made in about 1930, this delicate brooch displays a remarkable fusion of design: the upper part is very much Art Deco. Its articulated, almost garland-like lower part, however, is strongly reminiscent of the Belle Epoque. Truly transitional in style, this jewel combines the best of both eras to form a very exceptional jewel of exquisite quality.
