A SMALL CELADON JADE 'PEACH AND CAT-FISH' GROUP
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

Well carved with a ripe peach rising from crested waves with a pair of cat-fish leaping on either side, the waves on the underside carved in a spiral pattern, the stone of a semi-translucent celadon tone with a few opaque inclusions

The combined motifs of the peach, shou and cat-fish, nian, form the ausppicious rebus, fushou nian nian, 'fortune and longevity year after year.
