A PALE CELADON JADE 'BUFFALO AND QILIN' GROUP
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)

Well carved in the round as a recumbent water buffalo, its head turned to the left to face a small cub-like qilin exhaling a cloud of smoke supporting a book onto the back of the buffalo, the details of both animals finely rendered, the pale celadon stone with areas of russet inclusions
