A RARE WHITE JADE BELT HOOK
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

Elaborately carved and pierced on the top with a large bat and a smaller butterfly biting at leafy tendrils, the terminal in the form of an opening peony bud, and the knop on the underside shaped as a flowerhead on a dense ground of curly leaves and branches, the semi-translucent stone of creamy-white tone
