QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER IMPRESSED SEALMARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)

Strongly potted with rounded sides rising to a thickened rim, all covered in a deep, rich green glaze with fine yellow specks, the reign mark covered in a brown glaze within the countersunk base

Compare to a slightly smaller (17.5 cm. diam.) Yongzheng-marked example in the National Palace Museum, Taiwan, included in Qing Kang Yong Qian Mingci Tezhan, A Special Exhibition of Qing Dynasty Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong Ceramics, 1986, illustrated in the Catalogue, no. 56. Qianlong-period examples with impressed reign marks include one in the Cleveland Museum of Art, illustrated by S. E.
