Susan Allix studied painting, followed by an MA in printmaking at the Royal Collage of Art, and a Prix de Rome. She works at her own press, where she has been designing and making artists' books for many years. Each book is made completely by hand, using letterpress, printmaking techniques and a variety of materials for fine bindings.

"My concerns are with the interpretation of the words as they pass through the visual consciousness to become manipulated and contained within the visual framework of the tactile, three dimensional object that is the book." (5)
