3 volumes, 12o (173 x 104 mm). Half-titles, advertisement leaf in vol. III. (N5 in vol. I with short marginal tear crossing a few letters, some occasional pale spotting.) Near contemporary half calf, marbled boards (some drying and rubbing, a few spine labels lacking, old descriptions mounted on front pastedown). Provenance: Augustine Birrell (bookplate in vol. I).
FIRST EDITION. Jane Austen wrote Mansfield Park between February 1811 and June 1813. Published in May of 1814 in a small edition of about 1250 copies, it was completely sold out by November.
