Lot Essay

The Empire shape of these bergeres relate to the oeuvre of Georges Jacob (1739-1814) in whose workshop Pierre-Benoit Marcion (1769-1840) possibly trained. Marcion is one among a few cabinet makers to supply Napoleon. He worked for most of the imperial palaces including Compiègne, Saint-Cloud, Trianon and Fontainebleau.
